About Eunice
Hello,
My name is Eunice. My ancestral roots are directly connected to the Visayan and Mindanao regions of what is now known as the Republic of the Philippines. My late maternal ‘Lola’ (grandmother) was well-versed in medicinal herbs, ‘hilot’ (healing massage) and was a practising traditional midwife - supporting women in their physical, emotional and spiritual health - until her death. The communities Lola served gave her the titles of ‘Mananabang’ (midwife) and ‘Manghihilot’ (‘bone-setter’ & massage therapist).
I have been a facilitator of meditation and postural yoga since 2004, and using yoga within a therapeutic context since 2008. My intention in my work is to support physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. My approach within yoga is informed by my study and work experience in the framework of therapeutic yoga. I advocate and aim to facilitate under the ethos of a trauma-informed lens. I have been a faculty member with Yogacampus since 2010 and contribute to panels and discussions that address critical issues within contemporary yoga spaces.
I have been supported and nourished by a multi-dimensional yoga and meditation practice for over 2 decades. In addition to my personal practice, my introspection is anchored in verbal therapy; my joy and self-care is rooted in dance, writing, making, and time in nature. My professional support is accessed through monthly yoga peer-group supervision and supervision through the organisations I collaborate with.
I have experienced cultural, social and economic diversity. I am slowly learning to reclaim all parts of my Self.
